Thanks, Rolo. Some of your countrymen already helped me out…kinda. There were some folks from the Mexican chapter of the Red Cross volunteering at the emergency shelter. There were also some Canadian volunteers, and LOTS of volunteers from all across America – some from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii!
For anyone who may be interested… Today we received our first official piece of mail at the new address. It was a holiday card from some relatives, whom I’m surprised had the new address already. We also got our first piece of junk mail, too 🙂
Even the movie and RGB & EGB scripts look undamaged – and that’s a miracle considering the shelf they were on collapsed!
Looks like I’ll be back on the case next year then too. lol 😉
Yes, I’m making 2013 my year of “get everything digitalized” as this storm taught me a great lesson in how fragile physical items are. First the scripts, then all of the comic books (I own every Ghostbusters comic published in the U.S. prior to the current IDW series, including all variant covers), then the other books. Mind you, not all of it will be for the website. Some of it will be just for me.
I’m happy for you that not all of your possessions were ruined. Hope the rest of the family were as lucky or luckier. Hopefully you can write off some of the damage somehow, Louis Tully could I bet.
Of course not until everything’s stable for you, but when you’re ready, I’m willing to help you out and scan the scripts especially any Extreme Ghostbusters ones.
